Time.

Time is everything. Time is the measure of life. Without time, our world we be at loss.  Time is needed to be put into everything, no matter the outcome.  However, people complain about how we need more time or there aren't enough hours in the day. Really, theres so much time, we just don't prioritize it correctly.

Ever since January 4th, the first day of rehearsal for Seussical: The Musical.  I vowed to myself that I would forget about counting down the  number of days till tech week, my birthday, or the opening night.  I feel like everyone stresses out during shows about how there isn't enough time to perfect everything a form it the way you want to, from a director's point of view.  I feel that with that vow, I was able to apreciate the time I had to rehearse and did what I could to help others, and make sure I was on top of things.  Now that Tech Week starts Monday, and my 16th birthday is thursday, and opening night is Friday, Its a scary thing.

One reason that I did avoid counting down the days till my birthday is because I feel as though theres a gigantic jump from 15 to 16, even though its just one year.  I feel like its a huge jump of faith. Many amazing things happened when I was 15, and there were some things I wish didn't happen.  But with the great things, I am able to start off my 16th year of life with one of my dream roles, and third lead role.

This whole experience has been a complete thrill and I wouldn't change it for the world.  Along with every show, and ever role you play, you learn things, and I have learned so much from it.  I was able to realize exactly how special BU SYMTW is to me, but also that the magic doesn't just stay there.  The magic follows with you for the entire year, until you get "recharged" in a way, during those 3 weeks of pure luxury and enjoyment.  The point of BU is that you will bring what you have learned to the table in the rest of your daily activities, and share the magic.  For example, our cast was in need, and still sorta is in need of cast unity and energry.  Some BU alumi showed everyone the infamous jiggalo, and now its the new rage.  After the first or second time playing it, I could start to feel the unity and enjoyment through everyone, and I really hope everyone else felt the same.  BU SYMTW is not a cult, or a form of the KKK. It's a group of people who all share the same passion and want to combine everyone's talents and perform a kickass show.  And with the help from some very special people, Jim, Todd, Brenda, Elaine, Kim and Jessica, they make our dream and goals a reality.

I'm looking forward to the next week or so, not only because of the show, but for others to see what the outcome of all our precious time that we have placed into a single comedic and family oriented show.  Seussical is built upon so many themes and lessons that enhance the lives of children who also dream dreams and think big thinks.  If we as a cast could show that to everyone in the audience, especially to the kids, I'd say we did a job well done.
